Eric Beasley – Making Life Better One Tap Out at a Time!

Meet our friend Eric.

Eric Beasley is our Jiu Jitsu Spotlight member of the month!

Eric has been with a part of our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy for more than 2 years.  His friend Ryan invited him out to try a class and he was instantly hooked!

He is a great training partner and hard worker, and always finds a way to fill the room with laughter  He loves BJJ so much that he started an apparel company that sells BJJ related shirts, sweatshirts, and hats (which we totally love).  Eric even brings his daughter to train with us sometimes.

What are your favorite things to do outside of the gym? What do you do for a living?

Outside of jiu jitsu my life revolves around my family, music, drawing, and comic books. I have been working at NC State University for the last 6 years.

When you hear “Fuquay BJJ” what is the first thing that comes to mind?

Training the toughest, most effective, and gratifying of martial arts with some of the most awesome folks I’ve ever met.

What changes have you seen in yourself since starting training at Fuquay BJJ?

There are so many that it’s hard to single one out. Jiu jitsu has changed the way I view myself. Mentally and physically, I’m in the best place I’ve ever been as an adult. Thanks to Coach Chris and my training partners for pushing me to always do better!

What is your favorite thing to do at Fuquay BJJ and Why?

Positional sparring. I like to try out the techniques we have been taught.

What has caused you to keep coming to training even when you don’t necessarily feel like it?

Honestly, through jiu jitsu, I have developed a level of mental toughness that I lacked before. I always feel like training. Always.

What is your proudest achievement/next big goal at Fuquay BJJ?

My proudest achievement was stepping out of my comfort zone and trying something different. Best decision I ever made. My goal is to keep learning. Its all about the journey…
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu meets 3 nights a week.  Come out and try a session for FREE on a Thursday night at 7pm.  All levels welcome!
