Walking Through the Doors of OSI: A Life-Changing Step
Walking through the doors of Original Strength Institute was one of the hardest things Lisa Hon had done in years. But it was also one of the most transformative.
Lisa always loved working out but found herself losing motivation after years at her old gym. Over time, she became sedentary, and when COVID hit, she felt like she had quit living life. By the time she stepped into OSI, she was struggling both physically and mentally—unable to get up off the floor, out of breath from a simple walk, and experiencing frequent anxiety attacks.
Finding Hope Through Movement
But then something changed.
“I was the heaviest I had ever weighed and hated myself. I remember…Tim [OSI co-owner] was behind the counter. He put me through some simple movements and stretches (which I now know are called ‘RESETs’), made me breathe properly, and had me try testing some movements again. I could see an improvement immediately. Maybe there was hope for me. OSI GAVE ME HOPE.”
With the guidance of her coaches, Lisa started making incredible progress:
✅ Within a few months, she could get off the floor without help.
✅ A year in, she had lost 35 pounds and was growing stronger.
✅ 18 months later, she took on Nutrition Coach Kat’s OSI Eat Strong program and lost a total of 72 pounds!
Building Strength & Overcoming Challenges
Lisa now trains at Original Strength Institute three to four times a week in our 55 and up program and she’s balancing workouts with life and travel. She recognizes that her biggest obstacle has always been herself, but she’s learned to manage negative thoughts and push forward.
