Member Spotlight: Kelsey Baetz’s Inspiring Journey at Original Strength Institute

Getting to Know Kelsey
Occupation: I work at the best bakery in town, Stick Boy Bread Co, and for the Carolina Hurricanes!
Hobbies: I like to sing! And hang out with friends.
Fitness Journey Before OSI
Before joining OSI, Kelsey’s fitness routine consisted of going to a different local gym every afternoon, working randomly on the machines for about an hour, and doing some running. While this routine kept her active, she was ready for a new challenge. She knew she needed a real plan to help her build strength to meet her goals and wanted to do it in a more supportive community.
Discovering OSI: A Game-Changer
Everything changed when Kelsey decided to give Original Strength Institute (OSI) a try. Her decision was influenced by seeing our team frequent Stickboy, and she quickly realized that OSI was exactly what she needed.
- Achievements: “I got into police academy!! And I’ve met some amazing people, as well as feeling more fit.”
- Daily Schedule: “I work mornings and have an afternoon break most days before working hockey games! So I find it pretty easy to use my free time to work out.”
- Biggest Obstacles: “Staying motivated! And working hard even when I’m tired.” — Although man oh man does this girl put in the work when she shows up for her sessions!
- Overcoming Challenges: “I’m pushed to my limits in the best way possible and they have been so much support!”

Proudest Achievement: Making it into police academy!
New Goal: To continue to get fit and become stronger!
Motivation: To meet my goals, to remember why I’m doing this, and also, my coach, CATHY!!

Favorite Movement and Reset: “I like rocking because it’s a good exercise but it’s also on the easier side… teehee. And I enjoy pushing the sled! Just not pulling haha.”
Advice for Newbies: “Just put your trust in your trainer! They know best and it will benefit you so much!”
