The Cynthia Hall Award: Honoring Legacy, Community, and Chaveli

At Original Strength Institute, we believe strength is about more than what you can lift.

It’s about how you show up.
How you care for others.
And how you contribute to something bigger than yourself.

That’s what the Cynthia Hall Award represents.

Remembering Cindy

Cindy Hall was one of our earliest members.

And in many ways, she helped us understand what OSI could become.

She didn’t just come to the gym—
she became part of it.

Cindy talked about OSI constantly.
She invited others.
She shared her experience openly—especially how this place supported her through difficult seasons.

She found something here that mattered.

And she made the decision to stay in this area, in part, because of the community she found inside these walls.

That meant something to us then.
And it still does now.

We miss her deeply.

And we honor her each year by recognizing someone who carries that same spirit forward.

What This Award Means

The Cynthia Hall Award isn’t about performance metrics or physical results.

It’s about impact.

It goes to someone who:

  • Shows up for others
  • Builds connection
  • Lives out the “OSI Fam” mentality
  • Shares this place with the people in their life
  • Makes the community stronger simply by being part of it

This Year’s Recipient: Chaveli Pena

This year, we are proud to honor Chaveli Pena.

Chaveli joined OSI as a teenager—just 16 years old—back in 2020.

And since then, she’s grown up here in many ways.

But what stands out most isn’t just her consistency or her strength—

It’s her impact on the people around her.

She has brought in friends, family, and just about everyone she knows.

Not because she was asked to—
but because she genuinely believes in what this place is.

And once you meet her, you understand why.

Chaveli is:

  • Kind
  • Strong
  • Hardworking
  • Encouraging

She’s the kind of training partner everyone wants.

She celebrates others.
She lifts people up.
She creates an environment where people feel comfortable, supported, and seen.

She doesn’t just show up for herself—
she shows up for everyone around her.

Carrying the Legacy Forward

In many ways, Chaveli represents the same spirit Cindy brought into OSI.

A love for the community.
A desire to share it.
And a natural way of making others feel like they belong.

That’s not something you can program or coach.

It’s something you live.

In Her Own Words

When we shared the award with Chaveli, she responded with this:

“I am honored to have received The Cynthia Hall Award. OSI has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. This award truly means so much to me and I am SO thankful for my OSI family. All glory goes to Him! I am blessed to be known and loved by Jesus. I want to share that joy with everyone I know!”

And if you know Chaveli, that says everything.

Her joy is real.
Her gratitude is genuine.
And her desire to lift others up goes far beyond the gym floor.

Why This Matters

Gyms can be a lot of things.

But at OSI, we’ve always believed they can be more.

They can be places where people find strength—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally.

Places where people connect.
Where they grow.
Where they support one another.

People like Cindy helped us see that.

And people like Chaveli help us continue building it.

Thank You

Chaveli—thank you for being who you are.

For showing up.
For bringing others along with you.
For making this place better.

And Cindy—
thank you for helping us see what matters most.

We’re doing our best to carry it forward 💛
