Meet Lynn – Stronger and Healthier

Our spotlight athlete of the week is Lynn Canna!  After 16 years of homeschooling, her third child is finishing their homeschool journey so she will soon be a homeschool mom graduate!  She has been exercising at Original Strength Institute for 3 years and has seen amazing health benefits and improvement in her ability to move!

Question #1

How did you hear about/what made you decide to try OSi?

I have a degenerative nerve muscle disease that was slowly getting worse and I decided to do my best to slow the degeneration by improving my health.  I started out at a health club doing the eliptical and taking classes.  After a year of that, I saw a contest to win a free month of OSi on facebook.  It looked interesting and resetting my body sounded like a good idea, so I decided to give it a try and I have never looked back!

Question #2

What are your favorite resets/exercises at OSi?

My favorite reset is rocking, I think it is one of the reasons I can now squat and it is also what I do every morning so I can reach my feet to get my socks on :D.  When I first came to OSi I couldn’t squat at all and over time, after working with Tim and Dani, I now have the ability to squat!  I’m still working on my range of movement but it is a great improvement and has made everyday activities (like cleaning) much easier.  My favorite exercise is pushing and pulling the sled, it makes me feel strong.

Question #3

How have your friends/family reacted to original strength movements/supported you on your journey?

At first everyone, my family especially, was very skeptical of the whole thing but after seeing how much better I was feeling and how I was now able to squat and get off the ground easier they decided to give it a try.  First my youngest joined me and slowly my other children and husband joined one by one.  We have always worked out together and have been participating in Tae Kwon Do as a family since 2003.  We have all seen many improvements in our day to day life and wouldn’t change back to our various pre OSi exercise styles!
